The 4th International Scientific Conference "Historical, Cultural, Interethnic, Religious, and Political Relations of Crimea with the Mediterranean Region and the Countries of the East"

 
The 4th International scientific conference "Historical, Cultural, Interethnic, Religious, and Political Relations of Crimea with the Mediterranean Region and the Countries of the East" will be held in Sevastopol on the 3rd-7th of October, 2022.

The event will be organized by the Institute of Oriental Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences), the State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve "Khersones Tauric» and Sevastopol State University. This scientific event will be held on the basis of the Tauric Khersones Museum-Reserve.

The following sections are planned to be discussed at the conference:

  • Political, trade and cultural relations of Crimea with the states of the East in the Ancient Times, the Middle Ages, and the Modern Age
  • The Mediterranean region and the countries of the East in antiquity, medieval, and modern times
  • Written sources on the history of the Crimea, the Mediterranean region and countries of the East
  • Historiography and cartography of the Black Sea and Mediterranean water areas
  • Archeology, numismatics, and epigraphy of Crimea: artifacts international economic and cultural relations
  • Ethnic history of Crimea and adjacent territories in the past and present 
  • Empires in the struggle for the Crimea (Roman, Byzantine, Golden Horde,
    Ottoman, Russian)
  • Crimea and the Great Silk Road
  • Interethnic and political relations of the peoples of Crimea in past and present - unity in diversity
