Achievements and Challenges in Development of Israel

Achievements and Challenges in Development of Israel Achievements and Challenges in Development of Israel

Institute of Oriental Studies 200th Anniversary Conference

For 70 years, Israel has gone a long way in the military, and in the socio-economic, and in social, and cultural development.

Israel occupies a unique position on the political map of the Middle East. For a long time, the Jewish state found itself in the status of a country-isolate. In recent years, largely due to changes in the region-wide conjuncture (the need for joint opposition to the nuclear and terrorist threat, as well as the solution of a number of socio-economic problems - lack of water, search for new sources of energy, etc.), and because of new political trends at the regional level, the country as a whole managed to get rid of the status of an outcast. Israel is gradually increasingly "intertwined" in the changing architectonics of The Middle East.

All these processes are of great interest to Russian and foreign researchers.

Separately, it should be noted the significant positive development of Russian-Israeli relations while preserving the status of the Jewish state as a key partner and US ally in the Middle East.
