We are pleased to announce the release of the first issue of the international open access scientific journal "Digital Orientalia - Digital Oriental Studies"!

This periodical should become a space open to different points of view during the digital transformation era. We hope the journal will become a platform for convenient presentation and free unbiased discussion of original research results accomplished by scientists. The journal aims to collect on its pages the works not only on the latest digital and computer methods in humanitarian research, but also on the digital transformation of the Eastern societies and the historical interaction of the East and the West.

V.Naumkin, the Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is the editor-in-chief of the new journal.  The editorial bodies of the journal include reputable domestic and foreign scientists.

The peer-reviewed journal is published in electronic format 4 times a year on a modern online publishing platform that provides broad access to domestic and international scientific audiences. The journal is being indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index; it is planned to include it in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission and the international scientometric systems in a timely manner.

The magazine "Digital Orientalia - Digital Oriental Studies" invites for cooperation mature and young researchers, representatives of various regions, scientific schools, and directions. 

Articles are being published free of charge, in case all the requirements for the material design are met.
Articles in Russian or English are accepted for publication in the journal:

  • Research articles (30-40 thousand characters);
  • Translations of cultural and historical monuments (15-40 thousand characters);
  • Thematic reviews and reviews of scientific literature and research information resources (15-40 thousand characters);
  • Detailed reports on conferences, seminars, training programs (15-30 thousand characters);
  • Memorial materials and scientific life chronicles (15-30 thousand characters).

In addition, the magazine has adopted special formats of materials:

  • Short messages (10-25 thousand characters);
  • Research by young scientists (25-40 thousand characters);
  • Discussion materials, discussion and correspondence (15-40 thousand characters);
  • Interviews with researchers (15-40 thousand characters).

The main thematic areas of the journal correspond to a wide range of modern scientific directions of the Higher Attestation Commission: history, source study and historiography, archeology; ethnology and anthropology; philosophy and cultural studies; economy; law; philology, and communication studies.
