The Center of Southeast Asia, Australia, and Oceania of the Institute of Oriental Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences) and the N.N. Miklukho-Maclay Foundation held an international scientific and practical online conference “Russia in the South Seas” on the 1st of March 2022.

The event was the practice of preserving the historical, cultural and scientific heritage, timed to coincide with the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Malaysia. 

The conference was held within the framework of the international project "Russia in the South Seas Region", the purpose of which was the strengthening of scientific, cultural and humanitarian ties, and developing intercultural dialogue.
