On April the 26-27th, the 4th International Academic and Practical Conference "Russia and the World: Dialogues - 2022" was held. The event's scientific partner was for the first time the Institute of Oriental Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences).

The event was opened by  Vitaly Naumkin, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences).

At the invitation of the organizers the Institute of Oriental Studies for the first time acted as a scientific partner of the international conference "Russia and the World: Dialogues-2022" . The event was held for the sixth time this year.

The conference organizers were the National Research Institute for the Communications Development and the National School of Economics.

Academician Vitaly Naumkin, Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was invited to the conference’s opening and delivered a welcoming speech to the participants. He noted the uniqueness and complex nature of the event, which refracted the communication and dialogue issues that have been characteristic of the present time. Mr. Naumkin said: "We are being faced with a great communication gap, but much in cooperation may be achieved through the ability to listen and to be diplomatic."

The invited researchers from the Institute of Oriental Studies presented their reports at the expert discussions, and also they held their sections as moderators.

Within the conference framework a special session "The Afghan Knot in the System of the Countries’ Regional Dialogue" was held. The event brought together the leading Afghan scholars.

The discussion was organized and moderated by Omar Nessar, Candidate of Historical Sciences, the Senior Researcher at the Center for the Study of the Near and Middle East Countries (the Institute of Oriental Studies), Director of the Center for Modern Afghanistan Studies.

He revealed the new order features in Afghanistan in his speech, which determine the transformational processes in the conservative Afghan society, as well as the stabilization factors and possible models for legitimizing the new political regime.
