Exhibition "Buddha Face" from Akif Gilalov Collection
On the 28th of June, 2022 the Eastern Cultural Center of the Institute of Oriental Studies hosted the opening of a unique exhibition "Buddha Faces" of Buddhist art antique rarities from Akif Gilalov's collection.
The solemn ribbon was cut by Vitaly Naumkin, the Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences), Lana Ravandi-Fadai, the Head of the All-Russian Cultural Center, and Akif Gilalov, arts patron.
The main concept of the exhibition is the variety of Buddha artistic forms which has been formed for over more than 2500 years.
This Oriental collection is one of the five largest private collections of Buddhist art in the world and is the largest private collection in Russia with 800 rarities.
The exhibition was attended by the following officials:

- Ambassador of Nicaragua - Alba Azucena Torres
- Ambassador of Grenada - Oleg Firer
- Ambassador of Azerbaijan - Polad Bulbul Ogly
- Rector of the Buddhist Aginsky Academy
- Pastor of the Four Noble Truths Center
- Deputy Head of the Center for Tibetan Culture and Information
- Tibetan doctors and representatives of the Buddhist clergy
