Social and political history and historiography of the countries and peoples of the Middle East and North Africa, social and political history of Libya, historiography, history of Oriental studies, historical memory, colonialism, social and political movements and ideologies.

Biography

2016 – present – expert at the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC).
2016 – present – spokesperson and expert at the international multimedia press centre of the ‘Russia Today’ International News Agency.
2018–present – Chair of the Expert Council of the Russian Middle East Association. 2018–present – Expert at the Valdai International Discussion Club.
2019–present – Member of the Expert Council of the Centre for the Prevention of Religious and Ethnic Extremism in Educational Institutions of the Russian Federation.
2019–present – Expert with the Strategic Vision Group (SVG) “Russia – the Islamic World”.
